England have announced seven uncapped players as part of a 24-strong group that will move into the Ageas Bowl to prepare for the ODI series against Ireland later this month.

The group, led by captain Eoin Morgan and headed up by assistant coach Paul Collingwood, features just eight players who won the 50-over World Cup last summer, with six of that 15-man squad involved in Tests, and Liam Plunkett left out of both. Two of the 24 - Lewis Gregory and Liam Livingstone - have only been capped in Twenty20.

The white ball collective will move into the bio-secure ground and hotel on 16 July, once the Test side and West Indies have moved to Old Trafford following the culmination of the first match on 12 July. Similarly, they will live, prepare and train at the ground, playing two intra-group warm-up matches on 21 July and 24 July. A final match squad will then be selected, along with a handful of reserves.

Ireland will join them on site when they arrive into the UK on 18 July, and will also have full use of the facility while adhering to similarly strict protocols. The three-match series will begin on 30 July, with the second (1 August) and third (4 August) taking place at the same venue.

Collingwood as acting head coach will be assisted by Marcus Trescothick (batting coach), Young Lions Coach Jon Lewis as pace bowling coach, with help from Durham’s Neil Killeen.

Former England and Essex cricketer James Foster will take charge of the wicketkeepers, while ex Durham head coach Jon Lewis will oversee the batsmen and Claude Henderson, who played seven Tests for South Africa, will look after the spinners.

Commenting on the selection of the group, national Selector Ed Smith, said: “Even with several multi-format players unavailable for the Ireland ODIs due to their Test commitments, there is real depth to England’s white ball playing talent.

“Again, everyone at England cricket would like to thank all the county coaches and support staff who have helped these players in the lead up to the behind-closed-doors training camp.

“We now look forward to hosting Ireland and continuing to develop our white ball strength in depth.”

The likes of Lewis Gregory, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow and Matthew Parkinson will rejoin the bubble with the ODI squad having been part of the Test preparations. Saqib Mahmood, currently at the Ageas Bowl, will stay put. Worcestershire’s Pat Brown, Sussex’s Chris Jordan and Yorkshire’s Dawid Malan were not considered for selection due to injury having been part of the original 55 to return to training.
