First Aid and Safety in the workplace

First Aid regulations for the working environment are laid out by the HSE in which the report states requires employers to provide adequate and appropriate first aid equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. All worplaces in the UK must comply with these Health and Safety Regulations, including those with less than five employees and to the self-employed to ensure they have the standards for First Aid in place.

The Health and Safety regulations change annually, and it is therefore very important for employers to keep-up-to date by ensuring their staff attend frequent training courses, and the the relevant certificates.

Employers must conduct risk assessments to ensure that their workplace has the number of first aiders necessary for their working environment, as well as the level of emergency first aid knowledge required for their risk environment.

There are first aid courses that cover all the compliance requirements for your workplace.

Additionally, it is vital that every workplace has a first aider that is skilled in providing emergency first aid services such ad CPR.

First aid courses ensure you are sufficiently skilled to treat and deal with medical emergencies while waiting for professional help to arrive.
