The Oil & Gas Industry

This is one of the largest, most lucrative sectors in the world that is comprised of a wide range of operations from upstream exploration and production, to downstream refining and marketing. New oil reserves are constantly being discovered and as a result, professionals are in increasing demand in areas such as operations, engineering and Oil & Gas support functions.

The Oil & Gas sector is divided into three operational areas:

  • Upstream: This covers activities relating to discovery, drilling, extraction as well as contracting firms and engaging with international stakeholders.
  • Midstream: This deals with transportation.
  • Downstream: This involves refining the crude oil into petroleum products such as gasoline, natural gas, diesel, jet fuel, kerosene, lubricants, and other forms ready for end-user consumption.
