Level 2 Inspection & Testing

The C&G 2392-10 Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification qualification has been developed in conjunction with the electrical industry in order to meet the needs of less experienced electricians, or new entrants who need to enhance their Inspection and Testing skills as they enter the electrical installation environment. This electrical course was also developed as a stepping stone for individuals looking to move on to level 3 Inspection and Testing qualifications (as this is often a difficult subject for even the most experienced of electricians).

This 2392-10 Inspection and testing qualification not only helps you to fully understand testing, it also provides you with a qualification and certificate to show you are competent to undertake the work. It is a very essential skill and qualification to have for anyone undertaking electrical installations. The course will cover:

• Safe Isolation Procedures
• Correct use of Testing Instruments
• The Correct Sequence of Tests
• Protective Conductors
• Ring Final Circuits
• Insulation Resistance
• SELV
• Special Installations and Locations
• IP Codes
• Polarity
• Earth Electrodes
• Earth Fault Loop Impedance
• Residual Current Devices (RCD)
• Prospective Fault Current
• Verification of voltage drop

This electrical course is a mix of theory (with an online, multiple choice exam) and practical training in preparation for an assessment.

As previously stated, this Inspection and Testing Electrical course was originally developed to act as a stepping stone for level 3 Inspection and Testing qualifications.

Your natural next steps following completion of this level 2 option would be C&G 2394: Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations and C&G 2395: Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations. This Inspection and Testing course is also available as part of a package of training within the New Entrant Domestic Installer packages of learning that we offer.

All of our courses take place at our dedicated training centre in Dartford, Kent. The centre is easily accessible by road, being just 10 minutes from junction 1a on the M25. We are only a short walk from Dartford train station which is served by frequent trains taking 35 minutes from central London. For anyone travelling from further away, we have our own accommodation available at only £25 per night.

This is a 5 day course. The cost is £550 including vat. A £200 deposit will secure a booking and the balance can be paid on the course start date.
