Course description

They have aims that are often very difficult for governments and people to accept or understand and so the violence will continue across borders, continents and around the world. Training Course Content

Unit 1: Introduction to Terrorism

This module provides useful background information on the key areas of terrorism today and the resources focused on anti-terrorism.

Unit 2: The Impact of Terrorism

Where we explain the key impacts that often follow an act of terrorism. The impact on innocent victims can be physical and emotional and the fear of terrorism can be just as much of a concern than the actual act.

Unit 3: Terrorist Threats

Where we highlight some of the key terrorist methods of today. These threats are always changing due to the success of prevention measures and the control of available resources. For example, it is easier and cheaper to obtain and use a kitchen knife to kill rather than obtain explosives and build a bomb.

Unit 4: Stay Safe

Where we explain some of the official advice and good practice guidelines to reduce the risk of being a victim of terrorist attack.

Unit 5: Counter-terrorism

Where we provide information on the range of security measures that can be implemented to protect people, buildings and assets from the effects of terrorist attack.

Unit 6: The Nightmare Scenarios

Where we look ahead to some of the future possible types of terrorist attacks so that we can better prepare from an information and awareness perspective.
