Course description
This new Apprenticeship Standard is for students who want to work and train in a professional and continually expanding industry. The Standard for the Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship includes the Beauty Therapist Diploma at Level 2. It develops the Apprentice to work independently and as part of a team, you will be completing treatments as a key part of your job role and training. You will need demonstrate a willingness to learn, have an enquiring and curious mind. In addition, you will exhibit a good work ethic applied to learning, drive and commitment. You will train to deliver essential one-to-one Beauty Therapy treatments whilst maintaining the organisation's image, financial viability and reputation. Treatments will include waxing services, hand and nail treatments, foot treatments, facial skin care treatments, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, make-up application and basic massage treatments.
You will be required to wear a CRC Apprentice Beauty uniform when performing treatments in College. Cost £25.00
You will be provided with a suggested Kit List which you can purchase independently. The College and your salon will provide you with the tools and equipment you require for the course.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Apprentices must have achieved the Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Professionals - Beauty Therapist qualification and achieved the required level 1 qualification (or equivalent) in English and maths and taken the Level 2 English and maths test before being placed forward for the EPA.
End Point Assessment
Knowledge Test
Each Knowledge Test will be assessed by multiple choice questions and will be available online and on-demand. The Knowledge Test will take 60 minutes and will be made up of 40 questions that will cover the Knowledge requirements of the Standard.
Observation:
4.5-5 Hours (maximum)
The observation requires the apprentice to work on a minimum of two clients to complete:
• wax two areas to remove hair from the areas identified
• one hand and nail treatment
• one foot treatment the opposite polish must be used in the hand to the foot treatment, a dark polish finish or a French polish finish
• one facial treatment
• three eye and brow artistry treatments
• one make-up look
• one back, neck and shoulder massage treatment
1 day of college to evidence the 20% off job, with evidenced employer training alongside.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
Continuing Studies
Learners can progress onto a Level 3 qualification or Advanced Beauty Apprenticeship to further enhance their skills.
