Course description

Level 3 in Travel & Tourism

Travel and Tourism is an exciting industry that offers a mix of practical and theory learning that can be aligned with your own experiences and supported through personal investigation. This two-year BTEC course covers a range of units exploring the full breadth of the industry within the UK and globally. Compulsory day trips and residential opportunities offer additional learning outside of the classroom, developing your real-life experiences.

This course is suitable for learners aged 16 and over, who are keen to pursue a career in the travel and tourism sector.

Suitability - Who should attend?

You will need one of the following qualifications - Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades 9 - 4 (A* - C), including English or Maths, OR - A BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Travel & Tourism/NVQ2 Intermediate with portfolio of evidence and GCSE English or Maths (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above. You should have a lively and enquiring mind, an interest in travel and tourism, a willingness to explore new ideas and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively. All applicants are subject to interview. In addition to the entry qualifications listed, the offer of a place on the course is subject to the outcomes of initial assessment, which will be taken at the College as part of the admissions process. Please note that entry criteria may vary quite significantly between courses at the same level. This is to take account of the specific skills needed for success on particular courses, the length of the course and the requirements for progression to the next level.
