Course description

30-20-10 CDM: Managing Health and Safety

This new 6-part online series will provide you with the core skills necessary for implementing CDM and ensuring compliance with these regulations. We’ll begin with an introduction to the legal requirements and responsibilities of contractors under the CDM regulations generally. We’ll then consider Health and Safety Frameworks under the CDM regulations, the responsibilities of the Duty Holders, and who they are. The will series conclude by looking at practical techniques and site requirements for contractors complying with the CDM regulations.

Sessions are 1-hour long, will run from 12.00-13.00 GMT every Wednesday from 10th March 2021.

By the end of six sessions, you will be able to demonstrate an enhanced awareness and understanding of the CDM regulations and how to integrate them effectively into Health and Safety Policies on site.

Suitability - Who should attend?

This course is suitable for those new to construction, as well as those in management and assistant management roles, trade supervisors etc. It is also suitable for more senior staff wanting to refresh their knowledge.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Understand the CDM Regulations 2015 and how they apply to the construction industry
  • Describe the use of CDM Regulations within a Health and Safety Framework
  • Define the various Duty Holders and their responsibilities under CDM
  • Assess practical techniques for implementing CDM Regulations, and select the right one
  • Determine the site requirements to ensure compliance with the CDM Regulations.

How to apply CDM Regulations to the construction industry

Duty Holders responsibility under CDM Regulations

Techniques for implementing CDM Regulations

Wednesday 31 March, 12.00-13.00 GMT

Session 5:

Site requirements and compliance within CDM Regulations

Wednesday 7 April, 12.00-13.00 GMT

Session 6:

Site Requirements for implementing CDM Regulations

Wednesday 14 April, 12.00-13.00 GMT
