Course description

Comparative Imaging

Comparative Imaging - CPD accredited course at City University London

Interacting with clients requires grasp of various diagnostic imaging tests such as medical ultrasound, computed tomography, medical magnetic resonance or nuclear medicine. For optimizing patient care, radiographers need to understand the pros and cons of non-imaging based diagnostic testing such as physical assessment or electrocardiography to promote quality in patient management strategies, including cost and liability issues.

You will get essential training on how to advance your professional practice.

Suitability - Who should attend?

The training course is applicable for candidates meeting the following criteria:
· Applicants should hold a minimum of a lower second class honours degree in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent from an international institution in Diagnostic Radiography.
· A Diploma from the College of Radiographers may be accepted, subject to successfully demonstrating the required academic level by completing a pre-course assignment (early application is recommended).
· Applicants should also have a clinical placement in a Computed Tomography or Magnetic Resonance Imaging department for an average of three days per week or its equivalent (e.g. 6 days per fortnight or 12 days per month) for the duration of the Programme. Students must have worked for a minimum of one year on either a rotational or permanent basis as a radiographer in a Computed Tomography or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Department prior to starting the programme. The University is unable to assist with arranging placements. The programme is part time only and contains both taught class room and distance learning elements.

Applicants whose first language is not English need to demonstrate their English language proficiency. The minimum requirements are:
· IELTS: 7 overall with a minimum of 7.0 in each component.

Please note that due to changes in the UKVI's list of SELTs, City University London no longer accepts TOEFL as evidence of English language proficiency for students who require a CAS as of April 2014.

The cost of this CPD course for UK/EU applicants is £2000 per delegate (no VAT will be charged) which covers course materials, lunch and refreshments.
