The Specialist LLM in International Banking and Finance Law gives professionals the opportunity to study important concepts in global finance. The course accelerated professionals’ development in international banking and finance. You will gain all the skills and insights of the different areas of banking and financial law and practice.

Students will be equipped with fundamentals in international banking and financial law which helps them explore areas in taxation, banking law, investments and money markets.

Suitability - Who should attend?

Applicants should normally hold a good first degree in law, or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline, and must be fluent in written and spoken English. We expect applicants who are not nationals of a majority English-speaking country or have not successfully completed an academic qualification, at least equivalent to a UK bachelor's degree, which was taught in a majority English-speaking country as defined by the UK Visas and Immigration, to have an overall IELTS score of at least 7.0.

Applicants with a first degree in a subject other than law will be considered, but it should be noted that this may restrict the choice of modules where content is dependent on a prior knowledge of law.

How do we make our decision?

In reaching our selection decisions we will take account of:

  • Academic performance
  • Reasons for choice of courses / career
  • Evidence of intellectual ability
  • References
  • Relevant work experience / activity
