Italian Beginners (Year 1)

Course description

Italian Beginners (Year 1)

During the first year, you will learn how to introduce yourself, your profession and family members, talk about likes and dislikes and express preferences, order food and drinks, describe a house,  ask and give directions; and describe clothes including their colours.  You will also learn to book holidays, buy products and order services. Not only will you learn how to make statements about daily life, you will also learn how to abstract the relevant information by asking questions and practising these questions and responses in class.

The course runs over three modules and at the end of Module One, you will be able to ask questions and speak about all aspects of daily life in the present tense. In order to build confidence and understand the structure of the language, you will learn articles, verb conjugation, pronunciation, comparatives and superlatives as well as adjectives. Past and future tense are introduced in Modules Two and Three.

The course consists of one evening class a week, for a total of 30 weeks; spread across three modules, which is ideal for those with various commitments or working full-time.
