A good merger model will indicate whether an acquisition is worth doing, at what price it becomes worth doing and how it should be financed. This one-day course will guide attendees through the development of a fully functioning and flexible merger model. Starting with financial data from two companies, the program focuses on the modeling of an acquisition based on a lot of assumptions, adjustments and detailed calculations to understand whether the transaction is value enhancing and EPS dilutive or accretive and to assess the impact of the transaction on the bidder’s credit rating.
