Glasgow Clyde College is proud to have been one of the first colleges in Scotland to offer the City and Guilds Level 3 Electric Vehicle Charging course. The new Electric Vehicle Charging qualification (2921) has launched and replaces the (2919).
This part time commercial training course is for practicing electricians who hold the current Wiring Regulations (18th Edition), a Level 3 electrical industry qualification and a SJIB / JIB or ECS Gold card.

The 18th Edition demonstrates candidates have remained current where industry qualifications were achieved more than 5 years prior.
These entry requirements are stipulated by the College as per recommendations from City & Guilds to ensure candidates have the potential and opportunity to successfully complete the course. Entry requirements verification is required to generate enrolment.

SCQF Level 6
Following the increase of government investment in the infrastructure of electric vehicle charging, this course offers electricians the opportunity to learn how to install domestic, commercial and on street electrical vehicle charging points in compliance with BS 7671 and the new IET Code of Practice.
On completion you will be able to gain accrediation with the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and apply for the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Grant (EVHS) or Workplace Charging Grant (WCS) to support the wider use of electric and hybrid vehicles. EVHS or WCS claims must be authorised by OZEV before any chargepoints are installed.
For those already authorised under the EVHS who wish to be authorised under the WCS, there is no need to resubmit evidence documents.
OZEV, or its representatives, will process applications and confirm authorisation in writing with a unique authorisation number. Please read the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme guidance for installers and the Workplace Charging Scheme guidance before applying.
