This course is designed for the complete beginner who wants to embark on this absorbing and rewarding hobby.
COURSE CONTENT
Measuring and marking Pierce sawing and filing Bangle and ring making Soldering Designing and making own piece of jewellery NB: In order to comply with Health and Safety legislation all students on jewellery courses (new and returning students) will need to be inducted into the safe use of relevant equipment and be signed off as competent prior to undertaking any further jewellery work. This will take place during the first lesson. As part of your course and where the opportunity occurs literacy/numeracy together with speaking and listening skills will be developed.
STUDY METHODS
Students will learn the basic skills of jewellery making, first by demonstration and then through workshop practice backed up with relevant handouts.

On going tutor and self assessment.
WHERE NEXT - FURTHER STUDIES
Students may wish to enrol on a follow on beginner courses and then Jewellery Intermediate to develop their skills further and to make more complex items of jewellery.
