Petroleum Engineering in Offshore Field Development

This courses covers key technical topics in petroleum engineering concerning the development of offshore oil and gas fields. Participants will be provided with an overview of the field planning and development process, focusing and expanding on the production performance of the integrated production system (reservoir, wellbore, surface network).

Throughout this course, participants will be taught about the common field architectures and production system layouts, their functionality, technology involved as well as engineering design methods and considerations for offshore oil and gas fields.

This course is suitable for those who are:

  • Petroleum, reservoir or production engineers and keen to refine their expertise in the development process of offshore oil and gas fields
  • Involved in planning field life extension or decommissioning

Upon completion of this course, participants will feel confident in their understanding of:

  • The field planning and development process
  • The layout and components of offshore production systems
  • Well and field performance
  • Critical issues in the development of offshore fields

Training Course Content

This course covers the following topics:

  • Life cycle of a hydrocarbon field
  • The field development workflow
  • Offshore field architectures and layout of production systems
  • Offshore structures for oil and gas production
  • Reservoir depletion, well and field performance
  • Overview of production processing
  • Flow assurance considerations
  • Special topics (boosting planning, production optimisation)

Expenses

The course fee includes tuition, course material, refreshments and lunch per session day and a 100 EURO non-refundable registration fee. Course fees do NOT include accommodation or living costs. Applicable taxes will be added. 

This course utilises computers. Additional computer fee: 150 EUR +VAT.
