This course is all about the behavioural dynamics between derivative instruments and the underlying securities to which they make reference. Develop a deep understanding of the financial engineering techniques by which derivative products have been created and examine issues related to the adequacy of financial modelling techniques and the application of leverage in derivative instruments. You will contrast how the products have been used in real world settings to mitigate risk and in other cases have contributed to increased risk taking.
