As the world's first professional accountancy body, ICAS has been supporting and regulating CAs for over 160 years, since receiving its Royal Charter in 1854. It was the first to adopt the designation "Chartered Accountant" and the designatory letters "CA" are still an exclusive privilege in the UK for members of ICAS.
Our trainees work in the fields of accounting, auditing, finance, tax and business with employers of all sizes and in a variety of sectors. We are regulated in the UK by the Financial Reporting Council and have global reciprocity arrangements in place.
