The Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is an advanced qualification that has been specifically designed for beauty therapists.
The Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is a vocationally related qualification and is focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using intense pulse light and laser treatments. This qualification requires you to develop skills to carry out IPL and laser treatments. It allows you to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients.
This qualification has been specifically designed for the 18+ age groups, and builds on existing knowledge and understanding of therapy skills and will develop an enhanced repertoire of technical skills to prepare you for employment. You will have your skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment.
This qualification will require research; it includes the skills involved in providing a thorough consultation with the client to formulate a specific course of treatment, tailored to suit individual client needs, use laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation and hair removal and to manage the health, safety and security of the salon. All units are mandatory.
When you have successfully completed this qualification you will be in a position to aspire to promotion as an advanced beauty therapist providing laser and IPL services within a beauty salon.

Entry Requirements:
- Must be 19 or over, entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline prior to undertaking this qualification.

Training Course Content
From this group you’ll need to cover a minimum of four components and earn a minimum of 31 credits:
- Client care and communication in beauty-related industries.
- Laser and light treatments for hair removal.
- Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation.
- Management of health, safety and security in the salon.
- Relevant Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19).
