Pottery - Lustre: Lustres are an onglaze , which means that they are applied after the glazes have been fired at a high temperature, lustres are then applied and fired at a much lower temperature the lustres will bring out areas of work by additions of either metallic or iridescent effects, they are Permanent, but not dishwasher safe, so should be used on areas of decorative ware or Sculptures only. , The addition of lustres can add another dimension to your work, and they are beautiful and fine , there are a few things to get right when using them , and I learnt how to apply them from Judy Trimm at Goldsmiths University , You will learn how to use a range of lustres and how to , 1 To clean work in preparation for applying lustres , 2 To organise brushes and application methods, 3 To resist areas for lustre, 4 Health and safety ,
