This distance learning course, has been specifically designed for students who want to
gain a recognised vocational qualification in order to follow a career
in this exciting, dynamic and inspirational field, but need to fit

Encompassing both practical and theoretical elements, the garden design course covers
all aspects of garden design from the more design-orientated and
technically detailed subjects such as hard landscaping and construction

In this garden design course, students are introduced to the fundamentals of design
drawing, carefully integrated with an introduction to computer aided
design, design principles, construction and presentation techniques all
set in the context of the design process as a whole. All these areas
are further developed as the course progresses so that graduates can
develop their design solutions, on a sound basis, and effectively
communicate their ideas to the client.
No previous art or design experience is necessary for this interior design course, just commitment and enthusiasm. Students will need to have regular access to a computer with an internet connection, ideally with broadband.

There are also 27 pieces of project work including three final projects in this course and includes making a site survey and analysis; preparing a client brief and concept boards; creating garden layouts and planting plans; drawing plans and elevations; creating perspective and axonometric drawings and rendering them in different media; sourcing hard landscaping materials, dealing with difficult sites, and understanding and planning garden lighting.
