Many managers and employees find it difficult to hold a challenging conversation.

The need to have a difficult conversation could arise when disagreeing with or challenging someone’s opinion, providing difficult feedback either about performance or behaviour, saying “no”, having conversations about personal problems such as sickness, or handling an emotional meeting.

This virtual workshop provides tips and proven techniques to confidently hold a challenging conversation.

In 90 minutes participants will learn how to hold a challenging conversation by:

  • identifying what we mean by a “challenging conversation”
  • becoming familiar with the 4-Step Challenging Conversation Model
  • identifying your typical behaviour when faced with a challenging situation
  • learning techniques to show empathy and seeking first to understand.

Training Course Content

In this virtual workshop participants identify when they have to have challenging conversations, what a challenging conversation might look like and why it is important to have such conversations.

The virtual workshop focuses on the 4-Step Challenging Conversation Model – creating the right environment, giving information, gathering information, and action planning.

Using a short profile, participants identify their preferred style when holding a challenging conversation – aggressive, assertive or passive.

The virtual workshop also explores the key skills of showing empathy, asking great questions and creating the context for being a good listener.

The virtual workshop concludes with a practical challenging conversation work-related role-play.

Our 90-minute bite-sized virtual workshops are designed to make a powerful impact on what your people do and how they do it.

Finding time for training in today’s busy world isn’t easy. Leading Edge Leadership’s 90-minute bite-sized virtual workshops provide your people with the flexibility to attend highly focused learning virtual workshops that will fit in easily around their hectic work schedules.

Our team of nine highly experienced trainers provide a truly engaging virtual learning experience.

  • Each virtual workshop is completed in 90 minutes – no longer than the average meeting – and you can connect from anywhere in the world.
  • Each virtual workshop is highly focused and contains the essentials of the topic it covers.
  • Up to three virtual workshops can be held in any one day.
  • You can choose any combination of virtual workshop titles from our range of 65 virtual workshop titles and have up to 25 attendeesin each virtual workshop – so you can provide training for up to 75 attendees per day.
  • The virtual workshops are delivered “live” in a fast-paced, highly interactive style using a range of features (breakout rooms, polling, facilitated activities, video clips and story-telling).
  • We deliver the virtual workshops on our Zoom platform. We can also deliver the virtual workshops on your preferred platform.
  • Typically we deliver three 90-minute virtual workshops in a day for most of our clients:
    • 9.30 am – 11.00 am: virtual workshop 1
    • 12.00 pm – 1.30 pm: virtual workshop 2
    • 3.00 pm – 4.30 pm: virtual workshop 3

Expenses

Our 90-minute bite-sized virtual workshops are priced on a sliding scale:

  • 1st virtual workshop: £750
  • 2nd virtual workshop: £500
  • 3rd virtual workshop: £250

A day of three virtual workshops costs £1500 plus VAT. Book two or more days (of three virtual workshops in a day) for £1400 plus VAT per day. This is our most cost effective option.

Book three virtual workshops – delivered across three days (one virtual workshop per day) for £1650 plus VAT.
