Carving (Evening)

These are short, practical evening classes to allow students to explore Carving using a range of materials and techniques, including carving in wood.

Suitability - Who should attend?

The course is suitable for people of all levels of experience who have an interest in sculpture and carving. Sculpture manifests an enormous diversity of forms and can mean many things to many people, and the courses has benefited from the mixed abilities and diversity within the group.

Training Course Content

These 6 week courses offers a formal introduction to all basic techniques materials and processes of carving in wood.  Inspiration will be drawn from imagination and/or observation of natural forms and the work of other artists. Students can try out the techniques over 6 weeks or work in more depth over 12 weeks.
