Day one

Introduction and Setup

  • Understanding the composition of a video file
  • Types of codecs and their uses
  • Resolution, frame-rate, bit-rate, aspect ratio and progressive and interlaced video

Assembly

  • Editing and adding metadata to clips
  • Creating and switching between Proxy files to speed up your experience
  • Interpreting Footage and changing clips audio channels
  • Synchronising separately recorded sound and video

Core Editing Enhancements

  • Editing with tracks and using track select
  • Using the Ripple and Roll tools
  • Precision Trimming of clips in the timeline
  • Unlinking video and audio

Multicam Editing

  • Syncing multiple angles of footage
  • Switching tracks in real-time
  • Adjusting colour across multiple clips
  • Working with more than two angles

Sound Mastering and Enhancement

  • Sample level editing
  • Cleaning, enhancing and removing reverb with EQ

  • Using improved slo-motion effects
  • Reversing and optical flow of video
  • Using the warp stabilizer effect

Colour Correcting

  • Colour correcting your master clips to save time
  • Using Hue and Saturation curves to create secondary colour corrections
  • Using adjustment layers to save time

Rendering and Export
