Advanced Fiction Writing

A seminar style course exploring character, plotting, narrative structure and prose style with the opportunity to workshop material. There will be ongoing discussions about the best way to get published. Taught by writer and former literary agent Kate Horsley.

What will you learn

Class discussions will explore several aspects of fiction writing (character, story structure, POV, language etc) often using a short literary text as a platform for debate. Students will undertake practical written exercises to further cement their understanding of the issues that have arisen during discussions. Workshopping of students’ writing will take place at the end of the seminar, but is not compulsory.

In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment
