Swing Dance
Learn the basic rhythms and dances of the swing era (the 1930s): Jazz Roots, Lindy Hop and 1930s Charleston & be able to social dance the lindy hop at a basic level including breakaways.

What you will learn
- General Warm Up
- Learn moves through watching and repeating
- Working in pairs and small groups for authentic jazz section of class
- Learn to lead / follow with a partner and to change partners throughout the class.
- Have the opportunity to ask questions
- Receive personal feedback after observation by the tutor during freestyle
- Participate in discussion on various topics around swing dance
- Watch clips of swing dance to facilitate discussion.
Study can include the use of digital resources such as film & photography, useful websites and connection with online communities of interest via social media to enhance your learning.
