Foundation Degree in Humanistic Counselling Based on TA Level 5 (BACP accredited)
The Foundation Degree in Humanistic Counselling based on Transactional Analysis is designed for individuals seeking a recognised accredited qualification as a counsellor and the opportunity to develop personally and professionally, using Transactional Analysis theory as a main theoretical model.
This programme has been developed and is delivered and assessed by Peter Symonds College, and is awarded and quality assured by Middlesex University. Students will receive an award from Middlesex University on successful completion.
Suitability - Who should attend?
Applicants for this course should have sucessfully completed a Level 3 course in Counselling Skills, e.g. ABC Diploma in Counselling Skills, as well as a TA101 Certificate. Please note that we offer the TA101 course at various times throughout the Spring and Summer term.
All students must have a GCSE English (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
The course aims to build upon the knowledge, understanding and skills gained on the Level 3 course and to enable individulas to develop further both personally and professionally, the knowledge, skills and attitude of a humanistic counsellor, using transactional analysis theory as a main theoretical model. The course aims to enable students to become reflexive, competent and ethcial practitioners.

Course price: £5950 per year
Continuing Studies
On completing the Foundation Degree you will be able to join the BACP Register and Individual accreditation by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Students may apply to study for one further year to achieve a full BA (Hons) in Humanistic & Integrative Counselling. This course is also offered at AHED.
