Course description

T-Group

T-Group is the program with one of the highest level of professional development for trainers and learning experts. T-Group is a form of group training where participants learn about themselves through their interaction with each other. They use feedback, problem solving, and role play to gain insights into themselves, others, and groups.

T-group (“T” stands for Training) is an innovative, experiential, and transformative learning methodology that enables participants to practice and develop foundational self-awareness, emotional intelligence, interpersonal, and other skills and competencies key. T-Group participants practice and develop core skills and behaviours through real-time interaction and dynamics. Participants learn about diversity, conflict, and influence by engaging with each others’ differences in power, status, and privilege. Feedback is a proven way to increase self-awareness that allows one to close the gap between self perceptions and others’ perceptions.

T-group is a “lab” for interpersonal experiments, allowing participants to learn about themselves through the information that others provide us with. These interpersonal exchanges can be vulnerable and, at times, difficult.

Suitability - Who should attend?

Admission Requirement

Only the candidates who score minimum passing marks (70 points out of 100 points) will be selected after examination essay.

Training Course Content

A T-group meeting does not have an explicit agenda, structure, or expressed goal. Under the guidance of a facilitator, the participants are encouraged to share emotional reactions (for example, anger, fear, warmth, or envy) that arise in response to their fellow participants’ actions and statements. The emphasis is on sharing emotions, as opposed to judgments or conclusions. In this way, T-group participants can learn how their words and actions trigger emotional responses in the people they communicate with.

T-groups that focused on small group dynamics, to those that aim more explicitly to develop self-understanding and interpersonal communication.
