Course description

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a form of talking therapy that aims to help people manage mental or physical health problems. Commonly used to treat depression and anxiety, it allows the patient to identify and break down patterns of negative behaviour, whilst offering tactics on how to approach these patterns in a more positive way, and ultimately change them.

If you have a keen interest in talking therapies and want to make a difference to the lives of others, this Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training course is the perfect starting point. It will introduce you to key concepts such as basic counselling skills, psychotherapy, practical methods of CBT, along with how CBT specifically addresses depression, anxiety, bipolar personality disorders and anger management.

Who should study this course?

This CBT online course is designed to train future counselling professionals who wish to expand their skill set by adding another type of therapy to their portfolio. It is equally useful to those who do not have any previous experience in counselling. This entirely home-based course is accessible whatever your academic or professional background.

There are no prior requirements to study this CBT course. You will be able to enrol and access the study materials straight away. Thanks to our interactive virtual learning platform and distance learning courses, fitting your studies around your own schedule has never been easier.

Outcome / Qualification etc.

What happens after the course?

However, if you want to start work straight away, you can take up practice in a public or private clinic, or choose to work for yourself. You could work face-to-face with clients, provide domiciliary services or even counsel online. Some of the jobs available in cognitive behavioural therapy include:

  • CBT Therapist
