If you aspire to work under a direction of a teacher, or if you are currently working as a Teaching Assistant, it is important that you understand the health and safety of children and young individuals should always remain a priority. The Children and Young Individual’s Health and Safety – Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate course focuses primarily on how to ensure children and young people remain healthy and safe in their learning environment. The course is comprehensive and will give you a deeper understanding of your role and responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant in such a setting. You will learn to identify potential hazards, how to respond in emergencies and why you should follow the health and safety protocols in a teaching environment.

The course will discuss health and safety legislation and procedures at length, giving you an in-depth understanding of the need to implement these policies, your competency at tackling these procedures when required and why you should demonstrate your ability in them.

The Children and Young Individual’s Health and Safety – Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate will explain the rights of children and young individuals, why it is important to conduct a risk assessments in health and safety, and how as a Teaching Assistant you can support children and young people to mitigate these risks.

The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality License Scheme. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. Entry Requirement

  • Learners must be over the age of 19 and have a basic understanding of Maths, English and ICT.
  • A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in any discipline.

The course will be directly delivered to you, and you have 12 months access to the online learning platform from the date you joined the course.  The course is self-paced and you can complete it in stages, revisiting the lectures at any time.

Method of Assessment

This online course is assignment-based with learners being assessed upon the submission of a series of assignments. Once you successfully submit the assignments, students will gain a professional qualification. The assignments must be submitted to the instructor through the online learning portal. The assignments will be reviewed and evaluated, with feedback provided to the student on how well they have fared.
