Drawing & Painting - For Relaxation


Make time for yourself and explore your creative side: This course will cover bite size drawing topics designed to take you away from the everyday and transport you to another world

What will we cover?

You don't need to be artistic or have great designs on being a 'great artist’. You will learn some basic sketching skills – investigating line tone and texture and be taken on a new and fascinating world of discovery. As a by-product hopefully relieve the stresses and strains of the day

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Absolutely anyone and everyone who needs to chill out doing something completely different from their everyday work will enjoy this course- from those with little or no experience of drawing to those who have practised but need a refresher to get motivated again.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Sketching pencils – 2H, HB and 6B or similar ; a Tablet eraser(WHSmith), a sketch-book or sheet of cartridge paper, some soft pastel pencils or water-soluble pencils – a range of 12 colours (including blue-green and flesh tints) –makes include Derwent, Inscribe or Caran D’ache available from most art shops or online (not oil pastels) A pair of scissors and a cloth or kitchen towel will be useful, plus water jar and soft watercolour brush

What can I do when I finish the course?

To progress on to a longer drawing and painting course. Many other opportunities to take up other art & craft classes meet like-minded people and make friends.

Additional information

Learners are expected to bring their own materials. Some less common or unusual materials may be brought in by tutor or instruction given on where you can purchase items

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
