Drawing & Painting - Get to Know Your Colours (SFY) [LDF192NZ]: Overview

This is an ideal place to develop confidence and skills in drawing and then painting where you will learn some techniques and develop your ideas and imagination through a mixture of practice, discussion and tutor demonstration.

What will we cover?

You will learn about the colour wheel and practice mixing colours in different ways. There will be discussion on different artists palettes. You will gain confidence mixing colours have access to one to one support. You will receive one to one tuition and help if you want to continue on to another longer course

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Mainly for beginners and for those wishing to refresh their skills in colour mixing at any level.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please bring a small ruler and the following painting equipment: A sketch book, pencil and rubber. (Daler Rowney or similar). Bring what painting materials you may have already or a basic set of acrylic or watercolour paints, several varied sizes of brushes, palette, container for water and lots of towel roll.
A pad of acrylic paper or watercolour paper.

What can I do when I finish the course?

To progress on to other courses in painting, drawing, illustration, life drawing, mixed media and watercolour. Many other opportunities to take up other longer art & craft classes meet like-minded people and make friends.

Additional information

Learners are expected to bring their own materials. Some less common or unusual materials may be brought in by the tutor.

When you enrol please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
