Drawing & Watercolour [LDF3799G]: Overview

The course will establish a range of fundamental methods of drawing and watercolour painting through the use of visual materials and direct observation.

What will we cover?

You will work with the elementary concepts of composition (i.e. balance, movement, contrast).
Gain confidence in using a wider span of tools and materials and be encouraged to take part in group discussions.
Have access to one to one support.
The overall aim is to help you develop confidence applying watercolour techniques through a mixture of practise, discussion and demonstration.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Suitable, also for those with some experience of painting one term or more and who need a refresher.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please bring soft grade of pencils (HB, 2B, and 6 or 8 or 9B), willow or vine charcoal soft rubber and sharpener for the first session. whatever watercolour materials you may already have purchased and a pad of A3 watercolour paper, set of basic watercolour paints and brushes as other materials and resources you will need through the course will be discussed at induction.

What can I do when I finish the course?

To progress on to Drawing and Painting scrapbook and other courses in another media, to join other art groups, societies or to develop further within the same class, meet like minded people and make friends
