Course description

Hand Embroidery - Beading Workshop

During the session we will be working on a beaded embroidery design of your choice. This could be a standalone piece or it could be applied to a garment or turned into a brooch. You will learn everything you need to complete a small design in the class or finish a larger one at home and gain confidence in using beads and sequins in your embroidery.

What will we cover?

We will cover preparation techniques for framing up the fabric and tracing the design. You will then learn everything you need to know to get you started including how to use beads and sequins and combine them with some lovely embroidery stitches to create your beautiful design – techniques you can continue to use at home.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

For beginners who want to try something new and improvers that want to refresh their knowledge and explore new techniques and designs with guidance. All abilities welcome

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You will need a pencil, some light coloured cotton (eg calico), a selection of different beads and sequins, some different sized needles, machine thread or stranded cotton and embroidery scissors.

You will also need an 8-inch ring frame, which you can bring along if you have one or this can be purchased on the day from the tutor at a cost of £3. There will also be some other optional items such as beads, sequins and equipment available to purchase on the day
