Hand Embroidery - Mounting your Work [FDF4228G]: Overview
For learners who have completed embroidery pieces that they would like to mount with a professional finish ready for framing or hanging.
What will we cover?
On this workshop we will cover measuring and cutting mount board; preparing the mount board with calico; aligning your work to the board, pinning, assembling and finally stitching. The finished mounted piece of embroidery can then be hung on its own or framed.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need:
A pencil
Embroidery scissors
Your embroidery to be mounted
A piece of calico at least 4 inches larger than your finished embroidery piece
Your tutor will supply the following but if you have you may bring:
A metal ruler or patchwork ruler with metal edge
A Stanley knife with a new blade
Acid free mount board
Copydex
Small curved needles
Buttonhole thread
Strong glass head pins

What can I do when I finish the course?
Learners will have the opportunity to progress to a longer embroidery course with Surrey Adult Learning for a more in depth personal development or to other sewing or design courses to enhance further learning.
