Patchwork & Quilting Workshop (SFY) [LDF243NZ]: Overview

Ever thought you might like to try patchwork? Here is the perfect opportunity for you. We will make a simple project that you will be able to finish in a day even if you have no previous experience. In this fun and friendly class your experienced tutor will guide you step by step in making a beautiful patchwork cushion that will take pride of place in your lounge or will be the perfect gift for someone.


What will we cover?

During the day we will learn how to plan and cut our patchwork pieces and how to assemble and finish the cushion.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Beginners

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?


A ‘needs list’ will be sent out prior to the course which will include where to go to buy fabric and the sort of fabrics to buy and you will need a basic sewing kit consisting of:
Small scissors for snipping thread
Fabric scissors
Pins
Thread – neutral colour i.e. mid grey or mid beige
Hand sewing needles if sewing by hand

Alternatively a fabric kit can be ordered from the tutor in advance at a cost not exceeding £25 – to order a kit please email the tutor at at least one week before the course date.


What can I do when I finish the course?

To continue with Surrey Adult Learning follow on courses offered throughout the year, and to enrol on one of the Saturday classes or other Needlecraft classes. For further details, please visit our website – information
