This course has been developed for advanced Word users who need to automate document handling using Word Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
Content
Word Templates
Overview of the uses of document Templates and the features that are stored within them.
Creating and editing Templates, and copying features from one Template to another.
Creating Forms
An introduction to creating and editing forms as a means of controlling the positioning and contents of entries made to standard layout documents.
VBA (Macro) Basics
Recording simple Macros to automate routines such as document formatting.
Using convenient ways of running Macros - toolbars, buttons within documents, shortcut keys.
Editing VBA Program Code
An introduction to the programming behind recorded Macros.
Understanding the syntax of the code and making simple changes.
Using the VBA Help system.
Extending Control
Introducing some commonly used commands to give more power and flexibility to your Macros, such as making the actions of your Macro conditional on some activity.
Creating non-recordable code for:
Toggling settings.
Managing user-input and displaying messages.
Declaring and using variables.
Use of conditional statements.
Looping and using sub-routines.
User Forms
Creating and utilising custom User Forms to manage user interaction.
Processing data returned from user forms.
