This qualification aims to develop the learners knowledge and understanding of - various common health conditions, monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions.
In order to undertake this course you must have English at Level 1. You will need to know how to use an electrical device such as a computer, laptop or tablet due to the delivery of the course being all on line.
On successful completion of this course you will gain a Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions.
This qualification is achieved by completing 15 credits, 1 of these is a mandatory unit-Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions.Optional units from- Understand cardiovascular disease Understand respiratory disease Introductory awareness of sensory loss Stroke awareness Diabetes awareness Arthritis awareness Dementia awareness Understand the impact of acquired brain injury on individuals Understanding mental health Understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities Understand physical disability, Parkinson's disease awareness.
The course is free if you meet the eligibility criteria. You must be a UK resident or have lived in the UK for 3 years or more and be aged 19 before 1st August 2020. You will need internet access so that you can respond to email and a digital device that will enable you to type your answers into a web-based platform.
On top of the stardard residency/citizenship eligibility, they must also live in England but outside of the Greater London Authority or the combined authorities of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West of England, West Midlands, North of Tyne, Sheffield City Region, or West Yorkshire.
If you are interested in progressing to further study at the next level of vocational learning, the following qualifications are available - Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, Level 2 or 3 Certificate for Working in the Health Sector, Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care.
