Course description

Automatic Process Control

Learn how to communicate with Instrumentation and Process Control professionals as well as select and apply the most common instrumentation and control strategies used in the Process Industry.

What's Special About this Course?

This course is run by Raymundo Mendez, a Principal Automation Engineer with over 26 years of experience in the oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, metals, food and beverages industries. He specializes in control systems and advanced control strategies design. As Project Discipline Lead or Department Manager, both in Venezuela and Canada, has been successful building teams and improving KPIs for those teams, as well as managing and improving the quality and the delivery (scope and budget) in those teams.

Moreover, Raymundo has lectured for over 7 years at the University of Carabobo in Venezuela as a part-time professor. He has successfully delivered courses in process automatic control, industrial control and process instrumentation.

Also, remember that this course is operated by Worley, a key and widely recognized player in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).

Course Overview

This course covers the basics of Process Dynamics and Automatic Process Control to enable the participants to discuss, select, design and document the appropriate instrumentation and control strategies as well as the Control Systems architecture.

Suitability - Who should attend?

This course is suitable for Control Systems Technicians, Electricians, Mechanics, Process Operators, Process Engineers, Process Technologists, and other instrumentation and control professionals.

Outcome / Qualification etc.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Communicate with Instrumentation and Process Control professionals
  • Select and apply the most common instruments used in temperature, pressure, level, and flow measurement
  • Select and tune the right controller based on the process/application
