After seven years off air, Shipwrecked returns to E4 , bringing together nine contestants to battle over the £50,000 prize money.
The contestants will be split into two tribes named the Sharks and Tigers. New contestants who join the island will have to decide which one to join, with the biggest tribe at the end of the contest taking home the prize money.
The initial group has since been revealed by E4.
Flick through the below gallery to find out more about each person, the majority of whom are either students or models – none of them are celebrities, although one is a “social media influencer”.

Everyone should be a feminist. I think everyone is a feminist, it’s just the world they don’t like. When it comes to love I don’t really mind who I go for. I’m more interested in people as individuals. If I fancy you, I fancy you. I wouldn’t have sex on camera, there’s no need. I wouldn’t strip off either, we’re literally going to be in bikinis the whole time so let’s leave something to the imagination.”

Shipwrecked 2019 - Contestants Harry, 26, model from London “I’ve been approached for Love Island, Celebs Go Dating and The Bachelor. I spoke to them but realistically I’m not about airing my dirty laundry. Chances are you’re probably going to have a fling but I’m not about having a bird. I’ll wind a few people up and I get bored quite easily. I’ll probably go sharking. I’ll probably miss the Premier League most for starters and then music.”

Shipwrecked 2019 - Contestants Big T, 26, part-time wig-maker from London “I’m adopted and originally from Malawi. I want to put Malawi on the map, someone else has to do it apart from Madonna. My mum doesn’t know I’m going on the show and my dad thinks it’s hilarious. I was wild at boarding school. I was smoking, sneaking out, drinking and sneaking boys in. I did it all. Sex on the school premises. I had sex right outside my school chapel and the worst thing is I think some parents saw.”

Shipwrecked 2019 - Contestants Kush, 26, fitness recruiter from London “I was in a band from 17 to 21 and I was managed by Geri Halliwell and Simon Fuller. It was the best time of my life. Going to Geri’s house every single day and rehearsing in her garage. I’d like to hope she will support me on the show. She is a bag fun. I’m quite OCD when it comes to cleanliness. I like to cleanse my face, moisturise, sit there and be in clean bedding.”

Shipwrecked 2019 - Contestants Hollie, 24, social media influencer from Kent “I’ve met Justin Bieber. I’ve been out with him. It was a couple of years ago now. I met him, he was really sweet. I didn’t want to fan girl. I’ve packed 30 bikinis and I’ll be wearing them all. I’ll be the one throwing parties on the island. Hosting them and making sure everybody gets drunk.”

Shipwrecked 2019 - Contestants Tom, 20, student from Devon “I’ve been striving since I was four-years-old to get into the army, that’s my main goal. Nearly every male on both sides of my family has been in the armed forces. I love survival tasks and I think I could be quite good around camp. I’m a very honest person, in a good way and a bad way. I don’t sugar coat things. I’m honest and upfront. Old school, I’d say.”
E4
Shipwrecked 2019 - Contestants Liv, 19, model from Manchester “I’m quite family orientated and the only place I’d been on my own was Magaluf and I was crying everyday for my mum. I’ve done a bit of modelling here and there. Nothing major. Just a few photo shoots. I am a hot head. I’m quite fiery. I think for anyone growing up on a council estate it’s going to be quite different to someone who has parents with quite a bit of money.”

Shipwrecked 2019 - Contestants Chris, 24, music festival CEO from London “It’s been a long year. My mum passed away four months ago and I was her primary carer so I was trying to do that and since she died I’ve been straight into organising my music festival. I signed up for this show to help get away from everything. I’ve been approached for shows like First Dates before but they weren’t for me. I’d be up for romance, it’s been a while since I was in a relationship. My dad would give me a slap if I had sex on telly.”
E4
Shipwrecked 2019 - Contestants Kalia, 20, model from Bedfordshire “Definitely I’m up for a romance. If I meet the right person and we have a connection. What I want from this is to represent Chinese people on telly. There’s not enough. I’ve been a model for Arsenal Football Club and I did the ASOS World Cup kits too which was really cool. I’ve applied for ITV’s Survival of the Fittest and I got through to the medicals but heard nothing back. I’m dreading being without social media.”

Vick Hope , who recently appeared on Strictly Come Dancing , replaces Craig Kelly as the show’s narrator.
“There are some amazing characters, epic bombshells and lovely waves of nostalgia ahead,” Hope said of joining the show.
Every weeknight for three weeks from 28 January, the channel will be airing a new episode of Shipwrecked .
